Dulce Maria D. L. C. C. (39), Maria Dolores F. R. (20) and Rosa R. S. (36), all Spanish nationals, pleaded guilty to brothel keeping. A Garda said the women were arrested when Gardaí raided a brothel in Limerick on 2 May 2010. The Garda said one man was in found in the premises at the time and a large number of sexual aids and costumes were seized. €770 in cash was also found as were eight mobile phones and a laptop computer. The women’s solicitor said each of the women came from poor backgrounds and were engaged in prostitution to earn money for their families back home. The judge imposed three month jail sentences on each of them which he suspended on condition they leave the country. He ordered that €350 of the money seized should be returned to them to allow them to pay for flights.
